Jellylearn Produces New Hazard Perception Clips for Speed Awareness Course
Jellylearn, in conjunction with Nottingham Trent University and UKROEd, have produced new CGI clips to help change driver awareness around the implications of speeding. These clips have been introduced as a separate module into the new Speed Awareness Course and went live earlier this month.
The Scale of the Problem
In the UK in 2023, over 2.1 million people were caught speeding. According to government statistics there were 424 fatalities in 2023 due to speeding, which represents about 25% of all road fatalities — a shocking statistic. The Speed Awareness Course reaches hundreds of thousands of drivers each year, making it a significant platform for behavioural change.
The Approach
The new CGI clips use Jellylearn's proven hazard perception methodology to make the consequences of speeding visceral and memorable — showing drivers exactly what can happen in the split second when speed removes the margin for error. Combined with NTU's research expertise and UKROEd's delivery infrastructure, this module represents a new evidence-based approach to speed awareness training.
