UK National Hazard Perception Test
Our flagship client — producing over 280 CGI clips for the UK Theory and Hazard Perception tests since 2012, reaching 2.8 million candidates annually.
The Challenge
The DVSA needed to replace the UK Hazard Perception Test's original filmed footage with a new generation of CGI technology. The new content had to meet the highest standards of validity, reliability and fairness — delivering a uniquely randomised test to each of more than 2.8 million candidates annually — while also covering a far broader range of road environments, weather conditions and hazard types than was possible with filmed footage.
Our Solution
Jellylearn was awarded the contract in 2012 and has since produced over 280 CGI clips for the Theory and Hazard Perception tests. The initial 130 one-minute clips were randomly selected to form a unique test for every candidate. This was a challenging, pioneering project — the platform from which Jellylearn has gone on to produce road safety content for governments, driving schools, publishers, schools and public sector road safety departments worldwide.
